Water, whether the ocean, a river or a lake, has always been an important part of Ben's life, it stimulates a meditative effect which he has sought out for inspiration and/or relaxation.  Water brings back fond childhood memories of vacations in the exotic beaches in his native Cuba.  Ben expresses that to him a moving body of water has a cleansing, soothing effect and it grounds him reminding him of what a small part we are in this vast, beautiful and complex world which we all share and are somehow connected within.
